KENTUCKY QUILT TRAIL: VIEWS AND VOICES (Book release and reception)

by

Dale Batts, “Sunflower” barn quilt is featured in the book, KENTUCKY QUILT TRAIL: VIEWS AND VOICES. This reception was held October 18, 2008 at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Ky.

Dale was the first owner of a barn quilt in Hickman County and her square is featured in the blogs header. (Since the ‘Sunflower’ square was painted on exterior plywood, it soon deteriorated and had to be replaced.) She was bitten by the quilt square bug after seeing an article in KENTUCKY LIVING magazine. Her daughter and son-in-law designed and created the block. Dale is a great advocate for this grass roots movement!
